Dr. Emma Oswald
DNP, PMHNP-BC
(She/Her/Hers)
Voted Top ARNP in Psychiatry (Seattle Met Magazine 2022 and 2024)
I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with both a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. I am licensed in WA state with full prescriptive authority. I have worked in the field of mental health for the last 10 years in a variety of settings including outpatient clinics, telehealth, psychiatric inpatient settings, partial hospitalization programs, memory care, and providing in-home ABA therapy to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
In addition to medication management, I use an Internal Family Systems (IFS) lens to approach healing. IFS is a non-pathologizing, transformative, and evidence-based psychotherapy that guides individuals toward access and love of their inner protective and wounded parts. This includes exploration of thoughts, feelings, sensations, and imagery. In addition to IFS, I draw from narrative therapy and other somatically oriented approaches including mindfulness and Vipassana meditation, and I am fascinated by the transformation that can occur when we become curious about the body’s wisdom. Additionally, I am certified in Reiki Levels I and II. I feel deeply honored to do this work, and I acknowledge the courage and risk it requires for an individual to both seek guidance and lean into deeper understanding.
